Lilly Martin, LCSW, QMHP
My role is to listen with compassion, guide attention, ask questions with gentle curiosity to deepen your understanding of yourself, and reflect themes and patterns that I observe. I facilitate interventions to decrease shame and self-judgment, to facilitate the exploration and integration of parts of yourself you may have rejected or forgotten, and to provide a safe space to connect and be seen.
It is imperative to understand how social programming, and the intersections of privilege and oppression have influenced and impacted our individual identities and life experiences. We cannot truly understand ourselves without investigating the larger systems and culture that informs our perspectives and identity. The impact of disparities of wealth and access to resources, diverse expressions of oppression, corrupt and dysfunctional systems, indoctrination with fear and shame, and inequitable power dynamics are largely overlooked or dismissed within mainstream mental health systems. The larger social context impacts individual’s mental health.
My name is Lilly Martin and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Portland State University in 2018. I have worked in community mental health since my graduation. Prior to graduation I worked in substance use and houselessness services. I have experience working with folks experiencing acute and end of life illness in a medical respite environment, and have been practicing clinical mental health therapy since 2020. My clinical work focuses on trauma, spiritual transformative experiences, end of life, exploring identity(gender, sexuality, relational roles, etc), and mental health diagnoses stemming from trauma and years of repressed emotions. I follow the ethical guidelines for Clinical Social Workers, and continue to examine my own perspectives, biases, and behaviors so I can be fully present and supportive of others. I value and apply integrity within the therapeutic relationship by practicing accountability, respecting boundaries, providing person-centered care, and continuing to engage in my own healing process to mitigate projection and countertransference.
I am fascinated by the psychological identity structure, behaviors of protection, nervous system functions, and emotions. Through relational connection, curiosity, and various approaches, I facilitate the exploration of your internal experience so people can better understand beliefs, behavior patterns, and relationships with themselves and others. I am informed by various modalities and practices, in which I have practiced and applied in my own healing process. I am informed by Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential Therapy, Cognitive behavioral therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, awareness practices, sound frequency, and experiential Somatic exploration.
I practice from a trauma informed perspective, that incorporates the intersectionality of privilege and oppression, and the understanding that all human beings have experienced diverse forms of traumatic experiences. Traumatic emotional experiences, repressed emotions, and beliefs, are all information that has been stored in our bodies like zip files on a computer. When these are released from the body, it frees up space for positive emotional states, feelings of connection, allows for less reactivity, allows the body to relax, and creates space for new behavior patterns and self-compassion. I embarked on a parallel process of understanding my own psychology, using many forms of practices and explorations that I have integrated into my practice. Though we are all unique, with different backgrounds and life experiences, there are common functions and activities of human psychology. Through the exploration of my own internal experience and life themes, I can better support and love others.
Transforming the mental health narrative
We all have the innate intuitive wisdom to heal ourselves, and transform our lives. It is helpful to have support along the way so that we can learn new skills to navigate difficult emotional experiences, deepen our understanding of ourselves, and receive compassionate feedback.
We have been taught to seek the answers for healing, peace, and happiness externally; through information and people. In that process, along with social programming to cede our power to others, we have learned to mistrust our own internal guidance systems. We all have the ability to relearn how to trust ourselves, release trauma from the body, understand the dynamic nature of who we are, and develop a loving relationship with ourselves and others. We ourselves hold the keys to our peace and wellbeing.
My role is to listen with compassion, guide attention, ask questions to deepen your understanding of yourself with gentle curiosity, facilitate the release of repressed emotions, support you to identify themes and patterns of behavior, to facilitate interventions to decrease shame and self-judgment, to facilitate the exploration and integration of parts of yourself you may have rejected or forgotten, and to provide a safe space to connect and be seen.

My Rates
Individual Therapy
I offer individual sessions with private pat rates: $175/session. I have sliding scale slots available and can offer rates as low as $100/session. inquire if you are in need of a lowered rate! Clients who are able to pay my full rate make it possible for me to offer sliding scale options for folks who cannot afford my full rate. I take OHP Care Oregon , OHP Open Card, and United Health Care.
Sound frequency sessions
In-Person sound frequency sessions are $120 per hour, or $140 for 90 minutes, and includes a 15 preparation conversation. Although this modality is used in my patient sessions, I also offer these without the need to enroll in regular therapy services. This is an intense, yet compassionate trauma release modality. Basic mindfulness skills, and some level of tolerance to emotions are recommended. (Not available at this time).
Women’s Trauma Support Group
This is a once per month, 2 hour peer support group. This is an intimate group, no more than 6 women, where we can learn about and practice releasing trauma from the body. There is power in speaking our truth, building trust, receiving support, and sharing our experiences within a group of women. I ask that you are open and ready to commit for at least 6 months. The charge is $35 per person. The priority is to build safety, share skills, learn about the impact of social conditioning for women, and learn how to release trauma from the body.
